Ragged Freight Companies

What would you say are the most ragged freight companies you have ever worked for? Not too bash them but the companies you say were the very roughest to work for.
 
Yeah, Mom N Pop Operator out of KRAP in Shipshewanny, MI was pretty bad. I worked there as a grease monkey, pilot, Line Service, Dispatcher, Catering guy, and Janitor. We flew VFR only Caravans. Good solid airplanes with multiple instrumentation - gotta be redundant in this safety concious world you know. Did really well too so long as you didn't get too much ice on them, or if it didn't get too foggy.
My friend was the one who got me the job-He knew "Pop" personally and introduced me. I asked Pop if I could see his company website to learn more about the company, and he just spit Tobacco on the ground and put in a fresh dip. He told me I was a pansy, and to go load the freight and get ready for my first trip. I was sort of peeved at Pop for the "pansy" remark and said I was nervous about going it alone, but he said just relax and that mom would go.
While mom fired up the engine I loaded unloaded the 18 wheeler. The packages were small, but heavy. Guy said he was from some drug company. After we had our 8,500 lbs we were off. Man that caravan was quite a leap in faith from the Arrow I had been instructing in. What a performer! Only took us 7,000 feet to take off. I asked mom where we were heading and she said Canada. We didn't make it. All these Apache's started surrounding us only 20 minutes out. Mom must have not gotten a weather brief or something because when we got back to KRAP there was law enforcement waiting for us. They took her straight into this black SUV. Pop was unexpectedly happy when he called me the next day. Guess he was glad mom was sitting in jail. He said I'd have to do the trip myself though today, and this time to have all my bases covered. It went on like that for 3 whole weeks. During that time my nickname went from "Pansy" to "Newbie" to "Nimrod" to "Hey You". I had enough one day, and walked right out. I threw in a dip as I left - had been doing that a lot for some reason.

Anways, the point is please stay away from Mom N Pop out of KRAP. You'll be glad you did.

That's a funny story. I work in Rapid City, SD and its identifier is KRAP!

That's a top notch operation, let me tell ya.

If i didnt know you, i would think you were serious. then again, i must be a little slow:crazy:. either way your posts crack me up dude. always. thanks for the entertainment of the evening
