***PUBNAT4***

You know what would be baller? I wish they would send out emails for those who HAVE NOT been selected, that way, we could quit driving ourselves batty! Anyone agree on that?

Everyone would still be up in arms wondering if they are going to receive the rejection email.

If anyone wants to try for Omaha, you might be able to get it. I denied it yesterday due to a family issue that I've run into. Basically the family is moving to Baltimore, MD area due to my wife receiving orders from the military. So I just wanted to put that out there and you guys can do what you want with it. Good luck.:)

Gahh.....i just got off the phone with AVC, and was told i was not selected.

I asked the person if they were 100% sure, theres no way whatsoever to be considered, and they said not this round. Try again.

But the person did say that they do go in order of your GEO PREFs.

So for instance, if you put your first state CA, and second one TX, that they'd try to give you TX for instance, but if they have an opening in TX, and someone else has their first pref. for TX, they give it to the person with first pref TX.

Wow....what a bummer. :( I guess, this is the rejection feeling.

So it goes to show, even with a 97%, it doesnt mean ####....

So, I guess the logical question is say you put TX for your second state, and scored higher than anyone who put it first. Do they still take the first pref, or do they take the more "qualified" person. (I use qualified loosely, because based on most OTS applications, it's really the only differentiating factor.)

I just got my e-mail at 5:50 PM. I was picked for the center that aviation careers told me about on the phone.

What an identity crisis. I always thought of myself as a PUBNAT3 gal, but I got picked up for a PUBNAT4 geographic preference.

(sorry for the cross-posting, there are so many threads)

Got my email today around 5pm est.

Congratulations! You have been chosen for further consideration for an
Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the Indianapolis Air
Route Traffic Control Center (ZID) Indianapolis, Indiana.

I just got my Email as well right at 6 pm EST!! Thank God cuz I was stressing. Of course it doesn't say what facility just that it's Enroute! i'm pretty stoked!!

:rawk:

Chichi stated on a diff thread that your choices were looked at equally. I would assume that the FAA would pull something like this though. Even though I scored high on my test, they will look at everyone (even those that scored lower) who selected CO as their first pick first. B.S.

Yeah, straight BS.

I asked them, how do we equally state we would rather work for either place? I said You guys ask for which 2, and if i'm willing to move to another state to work, then it must mean that i'm pretty interested in such location.

It was responded with a "that's the way we do it..." Whatevers....nice to know i'm being passed on potentially with someone with a lower score just because they put their prefences FIRST....:banghead:

You assume that the selection panel looks ONLY at geo pref and scores. Did you apply to 5/6/7? Sucks to have to wait, but with a 97 you will eventually get picked up....

Yeah i applied to 5,6, and & 7. So i'm not fretting too much.

But it's just a bummer i couldnt get it this round.

I guess this means i can actually start my dispatching in the mean time! :)

Yeah I don't think 5 is that far behind... if you are willing to hold out for the location you really want you'll be happier in the long run. :)

Yeah, I agree. I picked enroute only as well and got an invite for terminal so this whole this is screwed up. Applied for pubnat 2 and got an invite at the 3/4 panels. So who knows whats going on....

AH-HA! There was some discussion about this possibility and I think this may prove it. Once you're on the ref list...you can continue being considered over and over again. I mean...they know you applied. It's not like you aren't still interested or qualified just because it's a different PUBNAT.

They probably needed someone with your geo prefs for 3/4 and there weren't enough. So maybe they hit the old list. This gives me a little hope.
