Does anyone know how the process works if your first pick isn't hiring but you second is?

I know people are getting emails about the Denver Center, my close friend got one today at 4 CTS and I selected CO as my second choice to Utah, who from what I've heard, is under a hiring freeze right now. Even with my high test score, will I be selected after people who picked CO first?
 
Really folks. Stop posting in every forum. We're all checking all of them. The deja vu makes me feel like i'm losing my mind.

Also...

It seems that emails were sent out before they were all ready which was a bit of a mistake. The FAA probably didn't expect the quick responses to reserve PEPC spots and it's just not fair for people to be able to reserve a spot...when other people haven't even gotten their email. I think that's why the strange emails with the "you will be contacted later for pepc info" etc etc.

The people on this sight are qualified (or wq)and likely to be getting chosen. With the large amount of people we see here pulling their hair out...I HAVE to imagine that there are plenty emails left to go.

Don't fret and be patient.

For those of you who received the invite, did anything on your ASAP page change, or does it still say you made the referral list?
 
Quick question....Anyone attending the PEPC on 25FEB? I am trying to find someone who might want to share a cab ride with me. We can calm each others nerves!! :panic::crazy:

Uh... hellloooooo??? The FAA is using PEPC's to boost air traffic for interviewees, thereby increasing overall volume and inflating their numbers for hiring. More PEPCs in far away places = more flights = more air traffic = more controllers = more money from Congress! We're just pawns in their game. Pull the wool from your eyes!

But again more time wasted with no info from the faa on my end.

Just saw a blurb about Air Traffic Control jobs on the local news. It mention the potential to earn six figures per year, once training was complete. It added, "but you must have steady nerves." I thought to myself, "yeah, and those steady nerves are needed to just survive the hiring process!" :buck:


Still no email for me. :(
 
Shy did you put terminal only or just hopeful for it? If not you still have the two centers to look forward to and no one is sure if the tower emails from those states that got sent out are all from those states. I wouldn't give up hope yet. What if you got ABQ and COS? Duplicates might not be sorted out yet. It depends on your score, demand for the state, and vacancies. Someone will post when they call OKC for the 250th time and they tell them the emails are pretty much done. They have before.

My first post guys. I've been lurking here for months and finally my patience has been exhausted. I was passed over on pubnat1,2,3. I geo-preffed NY (all counties) NJ (NYC Metro area) and SoCal. So now I have yet to hear anything from number 4 and my hope is waning. Why hasn't there been any emails from NY yet? Does anybody know of a number I might be able to call to implore them for info? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I'm Terminal only. Now, I kinda wish I'd went for both. I'm still going to be keeping a close eye on the inbox and spam folder, just in case.

What was your AT-SAT score? Getting that 85+ (well qualified) score is pretty much what makes or breaks your chances of being offered a position unless you have veteran's preference.
