Airliners.net general manager killed in plane crash

That really sucks.

Not to spread rumors, "but i heard" that he was buying the plane and
taking it on a pre-buy flight. or maybe he was the one selling the plane...

For those interested you can find eyewitness reports and photos of the aftermath here.

Be warned, however, there are two somewhat disturbing pictures of the aircraft on fire.

A very tragic event.

[/FONT]That sucks but what is the first thing you learn? Never turn back.

I was aquainted with a guy who crashed a piper cub 20 years ago and killed himself. Took off downwind and with a big passenger, so overweight.
Engine failed shortly after takeoff. Tried to turn to the runway and exceeded 60 AOB. Stalled it, in a cub...

it doesn't matter, don't turn back, you're better off going through the power lines or trees then turning around. tighten your seatbelt, dodge mountains and brace for impact, that's all you can do. Not really anytime to trouble shoot either, just make sure the boost is on and switch tanks and maybe you'll get it back before you hit.

Oh man, that's terrible.

Does anyone know if Yohann is still working behind the scenes with a.net?

Seems like the website took off, he sold it to Demand Media and I haven't seen him around since.

He stops in very rarely, but his activity has been steadily decreasing. I can't spell his name either, but I do know it starts with a J.

Alex.

Yup. A couple of companies in California went on an aviation website buying spree a few years ago.

Sad to hearn about this. R.I.P.
At least the site will still go on and his memory will live through the pictures and other info on there.:(
