pineapple, so who did you call to find this out 'cause it is about to drive me crazy waiting haha.

huge congrats to all those who can sleep a little knowing that there is a facility waiting for you

I called aviation careers last Thursday. No email yet, but I haven't seen anyone else with a center post yet.

WOOOOOO!!!!!!

got selected for NEW.

Feb 23rd NY PEPC.

looks like I survived D-Day

Congrats!

Did they confirm the day you requested right away?

Not for me. They said in the email that the PEPC would be week of Feb. 23rd. And the three days are Wed., Thurs, and Fri, of that week.
That want a response via email and would then confirm the PEPC date for you.

Oh so did you just tell them you wanted that week and not a specific day?

You're tower, right? It looks like they must be splitting up the week between tower and enroute again. Last time enroute was Thrus and Friday, maybe it's Monday and Tuesday this time.

"All terminal candidates will be processed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of those weeks. Wednesday and Thursday interview slots will be filled first. We will be processing approximately 50 candidates per day. Once those slots are completely utilized, candidates will be scheduled for interviews on Friday if needed. With this arrangement, we plan to accommodate everyone while using our staff in the most efficient manner. "

Congratulations! You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the Amarillo Air Traffic Control Tower Amarillo, Texas.

The next step in the process is for you to decide if you would like to accept or decline this offer and if you accept which procedure you would like to use to complete your pre-employment processing. You will be receiving correspondence from several different offices. Please respond to all correspondence/emails/telephone messages. You must respond to this inquiry in order to be scheduled for an interview. Your options are:

Pre-Employment Processing Centers (PEPCs). This is an expedited method of processing that includes your interview, security screening, medical evaluation, psychological evaluation and drug test. All of these activities are completed in one day (approximately 7 hours from the time you arrive). If you choose to attend a PEPC, please be advised that all travel costs incurred will be at your own expense.

Traditional” Non-PEPC Process. This process begins with you being scheduled for an interview at an FAA facility location close to where you live. If you have successfully completed your interview and are recommended, the Aviation Careers Division will provide you with the information required to schedule the remaining pre-employment processing steps.

We have scheduled PEPCs for the weeks of:

February 23, 2009 in Jamaica, NY,
March 23, 2009 in Chicago, IL, and
April 20, 2009 in Los Angeles, CA.

What you need to do today or not later than the close of business on Friday, February 6, 2009, is respond to this email with the following information:

Decide if you would like to accept or decline this offer. If you decide to decline the ATCS position being offered, let us know. This decision must be in writing. If you want to discuss issues related to your future eligibility for other facilities, you need to contact the Aviation Careers Division at 405.954.4657.

Review your contact information provided above (name, address, phone numbers, email address) and provide any corrections or updates. If you have not updated your information in ASAP, you need to do so in addition to providing corrections to us for the interview process.

If you would like to attend one of the PEPCs identified above, provide the PEPC, day and date preference: Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, 1st and 2nd choices.

If you would like to proceed with the “Traditional” Non-PEPC process, let us know and we will get you scheduled for an interview near where you live.

We will acknowledge your response by return email. If you choose one of the PEPCs identified above, we will confirm your reservation in that email. Another message will follow from our PEPC coordinator with your appointment time and additional information you will need, forms to complete, etc.

We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible and definitely by Friday, February 6, 2009. Remember: The earlier you respond to this message, the better your opportunity will be for attending the PEPC of your choice.

Please let us know if we can be of any assistance.

They did a switch-a-ru on you didn't they Honu.:panic:

I told everyone days and not weeks:D:D

A switch-a-roo works for me if it means interviewing a few days earlier! :D

If I could just get this email!!! I haven't seen any center people get them yet.

Dredding, you're the man. Is it hard to be so awesome? If someone could write a book about awesome, it would be about you.

You should get your email soon. They go out in waves.

If you get invited to a PEPC, the job is pretty much yours to loose? Correct?

I have no worries as far as medical and background stuff. What else should I be looking for?

Be honest on the MMPI and don't answer what you think they want to hear, because it's a medical test and not an employment test. There are two scales on it for lying, one is straightforward and based on simple questions, and another is more complex and based on multiple factors.

Then hope they don't lose your paperwork.

I do have a feeling tho that i will inevitably test just how much i can possibly push the refresh button.

And how much I love my friends for cheering me up in this never ending saga of waiting, he replies:

"you could potentially create a rip in the time space continum where by doing so, you'll actually receive emails AS people type them"

Oh I need sleep. :-P

zz :(

I'm telling you man, use Firefox with the ReloadEvery extension. Then you can sit back and relax as your screen refreshes every few seconds.

While I was waiting for referral lists, I had ReloadEvery running on ASAP and I knew the second it came out.
