Is it possible that N106US might be used again?

after being in the water for that length of time, anything made of magnesium is probably gone.

Highly doubt this one will end up back in the air.
 
The caption for one of those photos said that the aircraft is estimated to weigh one million pounds. Uhh... it's an A320, not a fully-loaded 747. I don't get it.

Maybe it was a million pounds with all the water in it????
 
It has happened before.
A dc8 ditched 2.5 miles out to sea at SFO, and flew for a couple decades after that.
Were talking an analogue belt and suspenders a/c though. The bus is a flying computer, and thus would be a bit tougher to whip into shape.
 
Yeah, the structure isn't designed for the impact and deceleration forces of a water landing.
 
Plane looks thrashed pretty good in some of those pics.
