***PUBNAT4***

I want to change my email address on the ASAP. Is that a bad idea? (Will the FAA try to contact you on a previous address or are they pretty good to update the info?)

I would probably keep the email address that's already on there. If panels weren't going on right now, I'd tell you to go ahead and change it. I changed mine between my AT-SAT and geo prefs for PUBNAT2 and the change obviously worked, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the geo pref email.

But since panels are going on now, I don't know if they already pulled our information from the system and will just use that or if they'll go back and check everything again before sending out the emails.

This wait has to be the worst part of the waiting I've done since I applied. You know they are deciding your fate, but you don't know until 2-3 weeks from now! Ahhhh!

Is 2 to 3 weeks the normal waiting time to hear about PEPCs? Or are we just guessing at that?

If you don't get an email for a PEPC, do you find out why not? For example, I'd be interested in knowing whether my top geo pref's were simply not hiring at this time or whether applicants with higher ATSAT scores were chosen over me.

They really do a good job torturing you with all the waiting. :(

2-3 weeks seems to be the norm since thats how long it took after the last two panels for both PUBNAT1 and PUBNAT2. If you don't get selected, you won't hear anything. The only way to find out would be to ask, but I doubt you'll find any answers as the only people who will know are the people doing the selections. Its not like the reason is documented somewhere that HR can just look up and tell you.

So what happens if your name is NOT selected? Do you have to wait till the next PUBNAT that you've applied for goes to panels or what?

If you are NOT selected then you will eventually receive another email requesting Geo Prefs for the next PUBNAT that you applied for and wait again.:banghead:

Of course, the PEPC dates and city locations have not officially been established. However, does anyone know where they are conducted? I'm not talking about the city. What kind of facility are they located in?

the KC Pepc was located at the FAA regional building.

If I do a PEPC there, I run the extreme risk of running into my POI, that is something I want to avoid at all costs... okay, not really, but it's better running into him there than on the ramp looking at my airplane...

The way they move you around the building you probably won't have time to run into anyone... LOL. Seriously, they keep you moving at a pretty steady pace the whole day.

You mean like how they're moving us at a pretty steady pace through this hiring process?? LOL

I've been reading this board off and on and didn't have much of a reason to post till now. I notice that a number of people on here received their referral lists about a week ago, and I'm still waiting for mine. Is it possible that it is still in the works? I did very well on the AT-SAT but I think my undoing might have been picking Ohio in my GeoPrefs. I figured it was a solid choice since it had 3 11 terminals and the en-route center, but they just might not need the people now. Thanks for your help.

My HR reps voicemail said she would be out of the office Monday-Thursday for the selection panels and would return today (Friday). So looks like panels are done....

The list is posted on ASAP, the page where you submitted your application. https://jobs01.faa.gov/asap/

That is the referral list:D

thanks Rulerofthesky
honestly I had to hit my forehead after that because I remember reading after I took the AT-SAT that they didn't send you notification of the Referral List being generated.
*phew* good thing, I wouldn't know what to do with all my extra time if I wasn't waiting 24/7

When I originally applied, I wasn't aware you could apply to more than one PUBNAT. PUBNAT 3 is my one and only chance since I turn 31 in June. I really hope they look at the age of the applicant closely and put a strong emphasis on the AT-SAT scores.

i had a friend who applied to PUBNAT2, and turned 31 in december. he was hoping to get picked at the September panels, and then go to the pepc and get his TOL. he scored a 95 on his test, and chose NY and FL as his Geo Prefs. he was not chosen for a position. (there was a kid who was chosen for ZNY who is only 20, and had only put Terminal on his Geo Prefs.) i dont know how much they look at age. hope you get an offer though. choose the pepc route if you can!

Thats a real shame. Sorry to hear that about your friend. It's definitely scary for me right now. I wish there was a way to contact the people who make the selections directly. I would be telling them I'm willing to go anywhere in the country. If I get the PEPC offer, I will fly anywhere just to go to the very first one available.
