Not no bueno, just the next of many steps. In the words of Frankie, relax.

I hope this is alot more like PUBNAT 2 at this point with PEPC invites 2 weeks after panels and interviews 2 weeks after that!

we didnt get our email with job offers and pepc offers till about a month later. then the first pepc was a month and 10 days later, and the second was was over 3 months later....not as quick as your timeline

Maybe it was PUBNAT 1? I dunno, I read though one of them was pretty quick.

yeah 1 was pretty quick... panels around June 9th, emails went out the end of the following week. first pepc was about 2.5 weeks later, then another about 2.5 weeks after that, and then another a few weeks after that one. i feel bad for the people (boomersooner) who are from pubnat1 and still waiting around while pubnat2 applicants head to OKC. that would drive me crazy

i spent the morning with the facility manager here in mobile al
he checked his email and said that pepc's
feb ny
mar chicago
apr la
may kc

Well i'm new to this... will they allow us to go to ANY of the Pepcs ...or will they assign us to a particular date????

they will ask you to choose, but if its full you will get a different one. but take the earliest one possible...trust me. you will be kicking yourself when you could have gone to an earlier pepc, and now your stuck waiting and the other people are getting OKC dates

I want to change my email address on the ASAP. Is that a bad idea? (Will the FAA try to contact you on a previous address or are they pretty good to update the info?)

You're getting real close to the part of the process where you're introduced to your HR Rep. I'd wait until you know who that is. Then change it on ASAP and email your Rep to notify them (also re-fax the contact form they'll be sending you).

EDIT: I'm not going to lie...they'll probably still send it to the wrong address after you do all that. Best to keep the old email login active just in case.

Thanks for the information.

Oh man, Feb NY would ROCK! I hope that we have a shot at that one and it's not one of the PUBNAT2 late PEPCs.

NY would be Awesome however, how many of us would be able to go cause there are so many folks with the Pub 3,4,AK,HI and who knows who else going? 50 slots?

Here is my assumption, and that's all it is.

Feb and March were mentioned in the email PUBNAT2 got after panels. So those PEPCs might still be for PUBNAT2 with PUBNAT3 thrown in since PUBNAT3 is such a small group of applicants. Then April and May would be for PUBNAT4 and PUBHI and PUBAK.

That's my guess.

This is the email PUBNAT2 got:

"Congratulations! You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the Miami International Air Traffic Control Tower (MIA) in Miami Florida.

The next step in the process is for you to decide if you would like to accept or decline this offer and if you accept which procedure you would like to use to complete your pre-employment processing. Your options are:

1. Pre-Employment Processing Centers (PEPCs). This is an expedited method of processing that includes your interview, security screening, medical evaluation, psychological evaluation and drug test. All of these activities are completed in one day (approximately 7 hours from the time you arrive). If you choose to attend a PEPC, please be advised that all travel costs incurred will be at your own expense.

2. “Traditional” Non-PEPC Process. This process begins with you being scheduled for an interview at an FAA facility location close to where you live. If you have successfully completed your interview and are recommended, the Aviation Careers Division will provide you with the information required to schedule the remaining pre-employment processing steps.

We have scheduled PEPCs for the week of November 17-21st in Kansas City, MO and the week of January 26-30th in Los Angeles, CA. All terminal candidates will be processed on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of those weeks. We will be processing approximately 50 candidates per day; therefore we may not be able to accommodate everyone at this time.

We will be scheduling PEPCs in February and March. If you want to attend a later PEPC we will let you know the dates and locations as soon as possible.

What you need to do today or not later than the close of business on October 20, 2008, respond to this email with the following information:

1. Decide if you would like to accept or decline this offer. If you decide to decline the ATCS position being offered, let us know. This decision must be in writing. If you want to discuss issues related to your future eligibility for other facilities, you need to contact the Aviation Careers Division at -------------.

2. Review your contact information provided above (name, address, phone numbers, email address) and provide any corrections or updates. If you have not updated your information in ASAP, you need to do so in addition to providing corrections to us for the interview process.

3. If you would like to attend the Kansas City PEPC, please let us know your date preference: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday - November 17, 18 or 19.

4. If you would like to attend the Los Angeles PEPC, please let us know your date preference: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday – January 26, 27 or 28.

5. If you would like to proceed with the “Traditional” Non-PEPC process, let us know and we will get you scheduled for an interview near where you live.

6. If you would like to attend a future PEPC, let us know and we will notify you as soon as the final details have been worked out.

We will acknowledge your response by return email. If you choose one of the PEPCs, we will confirm your reservation in that email. Another message will follow from our PEPC coordinator with your appointment time and additional information you will need, forms to complete, etc.

We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible and definitely by Monday, October 20. Remember: The earlier you respond to this message, the better your opportunity will be for attending the Kansas City or Los Angeles PEPCs.

Please let us know if we can be of any assistance."

So how many applicants are there in 3? And then how many combined? I understand this is an assumption on an assumption, but assuming that the panels are all combined then there would be no reason to have the “smaller” pubnat3 go first rather push the folks though who chose the “needy” locations and then process the rest. That would be a little more efficient (contrary to the last 8 months) but logical. I’m hoping for the Feb PEPC to get the ball rolling a hair faster.
