ATP written

If you have completed the ATP written and are employed with a 121/135 carrier, then I understand that it doesn't expire.

Say that you get furloughed; does the ATP written expire immediately? When you get called back, are you obligated to re-take the test (should you choose to get your ATP)?

It still expires like any other written. The difference is that under some circumstances you may still use an expired ATP knowledge test report. Check out 14 CFR 61.39(b).

It remains valid if and only if you complete the carrier's PIC Qualification Program, i.e. Captain Upgrade. This came up a few weeks ago.

Ok, I have a question now...I took the 121 ATP writting a couple months back, and now I am looking into a 135 job. Does it really matter which one I have done?

Sorry to hijack. It will only take a sec.
Berkut, you have the best avatars on JC.
Continue. :)
