***PUBNAT4***

I've noticed that most applicants that chose the PEPC route have been sent across the US for it. Has anyone ever had a PEPC near their hometown?

Yeah there were quite a few of people from each area that went to the PEPC.

The latest one, LA, there were quite a few also. LA is a big place, i hope they have applicants from here attending there home city PEPC!:buck:

Yes, the people who coincidentally live in the above mentioned cities. I live near NYC, where there have been PEPCs before. For my announcement there wasn't one offered there... so I flew to KC. It's just a matter of timing and luck...

I was hoping for the same thing too LA would be IDEAL, but I don't mind traveling either. It's pretty much all or nothing with this career choice.

I was under the impression that the entire Pubnat being considered at a particular panel were all encouraged to go to the same PEPC, where ever it may be.

Do they actually offer more than one choice? Or are you expected to go to one location regardless of where you live?

Also, are we compensated for the flight to the PEPC, or is that out of our own pockets?

Here's one person hoping for NY or something east coast.....:panic::panic:

PUBNAT1 had 3 PEPCs (New York, Memphis, Chicago) and PUBNAT2 had 2 PEPCs (Kansas City, Los Angeles)... depends on the announcement and what they decide to do with it...

A few weeks notice? Good lord, I bet getting an airplane ticket in that short of a notice is going to be costly. Last minute air travel can cost you through the teeth. Crapola. :banghead:

As long as it is more than about 5-7 days in advance, the fares are usually no higher than if you had bought two months ahead. It was a month and a half between our PEPC invites and the KC PEPC, and if they follow roughly the same pattern, should be plenty of time to book airfare at a decent rate.

Question...What is the process after the hiring panel meets Jan 12th? How long until they call and offer you a "non-formal" offer of employment? (If they offer you at all.)
