Does It Really Matter....?

just received an email from the Excalibur and their rates from 10/18-10/21 are starting at $43 per night depending on the room you want.....

super deal for the location......

Yeah, but the rooms are terrible. I stayed there because it was cheap and our room was infested with ants everywhere. We got moved to another room and the TV didn't work. Got moved to another room and the toilet was broken.

It was very, very annoying.

they're not that bad for what they are - a place to pass out for 5 hours before going out again. John and I stayed there earlier this winter (march?) for about $30/night. It wasn't classy like the Monte Carlo and it was old with super scratchy sheets, but it was clean and for $30 a night, you can't really complain!

Looks like it might be the Monte Carlo for me this year.....$62 a night....We'll see what email I get before then...There is always the Sahara and the ride on the rail....

Can't really go wrong with the Monte Carlo (unless it catches fire of course!)
And the Sahara really isn't that bad. Good rates on craps and roulette, and a decent poker room.

well, we're either at the Bellagio or Mandalay Bay this year... so i'm looking at Luxor, MGM, NYNY and Monte Carlo for decent rates. I did like the Monte Carlo tho, so we might camp it there if they end up being the lowest "bidder".

Eww...really? I felt dirty just walking through the casino at the Excalibur.

The casino at the Luxor was so-so, but the rooms in the towers (I didn't stay in the pyramid) were actually pretty nice. My wife approved of them, which coming from her is quite an endorsement. She is very particular about hotel rooms.
