ZED fare on medical leave?

hey guys, have a broken hand and on medical leave. Does anybody know if I could ride out on a ZED fare somewhere during this time? Or do you think the company will have issues with that? Getting sick of sitting on my butt, and would be nice to go somewhere since I can't work anyways. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Also what is the path a ZED fare takes? From the point you buy it, to when your airline cashes it in, does anyone know who sees it in the process? Thanks for any replies or information
 
Thats kinda tricky...when I was out on LTD, I couldn't pass travel (we didn't have ZEDS) however my wife used it a few times (maybe 2 or 3) to fly to a Dr. in IAH. But I called the CP and asked if it was ok before I put her on the flights, they said it was kind of a grey area, and as long as we didn't do it often then basically no one would care. Not sure what to tell you you, that was just my (limited) experience with it.......Good Luck!
 
Thanks for the reply. Not sure how it works with a ZED fare and if they would even get wind of it unless they investigated, since it would be offline travel. Personally I don't see anything wrong about it anyways, but you never know how these places work.

Hell, if I must I'll just buy a whole ticket, would prefer to save the 600$, though.
