Yale student sues airline for $1M over lost Xbox

Please, tell me what makes a xbox worth that much money.

(My only guess is that it was a dev version)

It probably was the TSA who took it. Rampers don't usually have enough time to go pawing through luggage that may or may not have anything in it.

If something is that valuable, buy extra insurance, or package it carefully and ship it FedEx or UPS (the latter of which is what I would do). Not pack it in your checked luggage....

If he's going to Yale, I think he can afford a new xbox (or his parents) w/o having to sue the airline.

The guy's just a joker.
The airline can always get him another
provided they are responsible for the loss.

Delta had an 6 month ongoing sting operation here in BDL that netted 15 baggage handlers. ( Didn't hear anything about the Watchman Wandhands)The nightly news displayed 4 flatscreen TV's among other things that were recovered from the thieving employees.

But now Katie, that'd mean not screwing a company out of a couple hundred thousand dollars. . .perhaps even $1 million.

I'd settle it out of court for the price of the Xbox and if he wanted to decline the terms of the settlement, we'll meet you in court.

But that's just me.

A flatscreen TV is not easy to jam into a suitcase. If you KNOW there's something valuable in a suitcase that changes the whole game. Unless the passenger was a complete idiot (which is quite possible), nobody except the TSA would know there was an Xbox inside it.

If you take the crew bus at PHL, you see lots of rampers going to work with rollaboards. Are their lunches that big? :panic:

Don't forget the 5-foot African masks! ;)

They could be flying out after work. I worked United at IAD and its not uncommon for somebody to bring their suitcase and take a flight out after work or shower and change to go out that night/second job.

I do that all the time. After all, after my "real job" I change into my stripper outfit and get to work.

Put this kid on the No-Fly list just for the hell of it. What a tool, grow up and drop the video games. Read a book. Let me guess, future lawyer?
