XJT TA Rejected!

Great job, ladies and gentlemen. I only hope that we at "ENVOY" don't agree to our junk proposal and lower the bar for when you go back to the negotiating table.

I have to wonder if the Eagle MEC was stalling with their AIP/TA to see the XJT vote. I would say it is a bit easier to say "no" now.

Recall Time!

I haven't experienced a Recall before. Let's see if I understand the premise...
The ALPA reps negotiated a TA that +90% voted on and +80% rejected. A recall would elect new reps that would presumably do a better job representing the pilot group's interest. This would be evidenced by the next TA being accepted by the pilot group. Am I close?

Historically speaking, is this the typical course of action following a rejected TA? A recall seems to state that the rejected TA indicates a failure on the part of the reps who negotiated it. I think that's a rather strong statement and that I'd need plenty of info before deciding whom to specifically recall.

I would support a recall not because the TA was so bad, but because they were doing such a sell job on it.

I get that sometimes the best agreement you can come up with is crap because of industry conditions (though, in this case we could do better). But in my opinion, the union needs to present the facts and then step away. No lobbying for or against it. No white papers on available large RJs, etc.

Just give us the facts, answer questions, then let us decide.
