wsi fusion vs flight explorer

If you're using a SABRE flight planning system I'd say flight explorer because it communicates with Flight Explorer. Otherwise I'd say Fusion.

Fusion by far and away. Flight explorer is an older program and feels it. Fusion tends to get much more frequent updates, better weather products, tends to run a little faster and has a ton of bells and whistles that Flight Explorer does not like ASDE-x feeds. I think Fusion is a little more user friendly for the most part and certainly allows for far more customization than FE. I think the gap between FE and Fusion will likely only get wider as time goes on.

Fusion has automatic flight tagging and ASDE-x feed. Those are both great tools for FF and having an idea of taxi times and when your flights will be wheels up. and then pretty much everything else @belgiumania said.

Having used both, I liked Fusion better. As already mentioned, though, Sabre communicates better with FE.

Fusion has great potential but is so poorly coded that a supercomputer couldn't run it well.

Flight explorer is old and dated and doesn't function very well anymore either. So I'd say I prefer neither. However the least of the two Devils is probably fusion. Get it more optimized and it will be a great program.

+1 For Fusion. I like the alerts you can set up on it. However, like mentioned, it is a memory and processor hog. Practically needs it's own computer to run on.

Fusion by far. It is part of WSI and has great feed ins from their products. Better layer controls and a far more professional look/feel than FE.

I wish we had the ASDE-x feeds for our Fusion setup. It is a resource hog, too. 8GB of memory plus an i7 processor and the PC still lags.

Oh wow...you should see what we are working on Fusion with. That computer sounds like a dream compared to what we have.

Put me into the "both" column. We use Sabre so I prefer Flight Explorer, but I also keep Fusion up as well for ASDE-X and notifications. On the monitor though, I keep up Flight Explorer. I think the radar is a tad bit more accurate.

Have used both products. As everyone has stated fusion requires a ton of compute power. Fusion does do a lot more that Flight explorer but is not as user friendly. But FE if is more user friendly and communicates to other sabre products . Personally if you have sabre for planning I would recommend FE if not fusion due to all the added features.
