I updated my logbook today and just thought I'd share my excitement. I've passed the 5000-hour mark. As of the end of April I'm at 5006.9
With my 875 RJ, 275 King Air, and 495 turbine Beech 18 PIC, I'm well over the 1000-hr PIC requirement a certain orange and blue airline needs. . . .

Hey Congrat's... Keep em' coming !!!

... and those videos too.. !!!

EDIT: Upon further reflection, I realize you may be thinking of a different orange and blue airline than I.

Grats!

I just passed 500 finally here last week – think I'm officially at 501.3 or something along those lines.

So I guess I'm about half-way through the "killing zone" don't know if I should be happy about that or scared sh*tless.

Wow! Congrats
If you were to combine all your hours into one flight you would be in the plane for about 7 months.

Congratulations Chris!! Excellent!

I've always thought of it that way! Love making those comparisons.

Edit: And you're referring to FedEx? Either way, good luck to ya! Always nice seeing progress among the aviation family.

So what ever happened to that airline with the REALLY LARGE bush planes?

Pony up $50? Try $8000 - remember, you have to buy a TYPE.

I know, I know. I'm not just convinced enough that's where I want to be. Submitted my application online today. The type might come later. This will be a very expensive "Gideon's Fleece."

The $50 actually went to FedEx. I think I may have wasted my money there. I've got no FE and have no plans right now to get one.

Yeah, but Anchorage!! Anyways, a FedEx MD11 FO based in ANC would be rather cool as well. Maybe you SHOULD start on that FE. IIs ANC a junior base for FedEx?

And it really isn't $8,000 at the end. It comes to a lot less with the tax deduction associated with training to advance your career. So like MTSU, I would do it in a heartbeat too.

That is awesome. I was just telling my wife how I've now passed 300 hours. And I just finished my first revenue flight (aero photog) 10 min ago! I have to pinch myself

this reminds me of the olden days when I was a flightsimmer, people would celebrate on flightsimnetwork.com "OH BOY 500 posts!" or "1000th screenshot!!!"

It brings a smile to my face that we're celebrating reality here!

Congrats!
