Wind routes

I see atc is having a bad day since the usual EWR/JFK wind routes didnt get issued till 18z, as advisory 96 and 97

ATC pref routes going into EWR/JFK from the Western US. It's part of the FAA Severe Weather Playbook. I haven't had much
experience with transcon inbound into the ZNY airspace so I'm not sure if ATC is strict with deviating from the playbook but if it
is in effect, it would be wise to follow it. :)

They are trying to get all the arrivals into N90 airspace in line as early as possible otherwise there would be horrendous airborne delays if everyone got to pick their own route as they try to space the planes apart
 
Yeah and the Midnight wind routes came out super late as well. I'm guessing it was due to the weather over the Dakotas/Iowa last night and perhaps the mess that was N90 until 02z
