Wichita Flight Safety

Best hotels nearby? Going in a couple of weeks and need a room. Thanks!

Price range?

I stayed at the candlewood and it was all right. Extended stay type hotel so you get an oven, microwave, fridge, king bed, etc for $79-$89 night I believe.

Hilton Garden Inn is within walking distance of Flight Safety but rooms are in the 100 range.

How long are you staying there? And who is footing the bill?

Staying about three weeks and the company is paying. When on the road now we spend about $150 or less on each room, we do collect points though. I'll have a rental car too, so walking distance isn't that important.

Make sure to hit up Scotch & Sirloin (east of Airport on Kellogg). Great restaurant.

We stay at Marriots all the time and there's a decent one east of the airport on Kellogg. There are a ton of hotels but you might want a suite cause you're there for so long.

What plane you flying?

There are a few extended stay hotels out near the Col. Jabarra(sp?) Airport and the Beech Field isn't that far. I odn't know if they've improved the parking at FSI/Raytheon but it used to be horrendously bad. Way too few spots.

Congrats man. Very high pitched engines! GE's are they? I don't remember but enjoy the Pro Line 4 avionics package its sweet, same as the LR-60.

I don't know what kind of Beechjets you have been looking at, but the engines are Pratt & Whitney's JT5D. The avionics are indeed Collins, but nowhere near the ProLine 21. The avionics are the AMS-5000 which is the same as the LR60.

I just heard today that they have done some renovations at FSI Raytheon, but I don't know about the parking. I'm on the other side of town.

Did you read my post, take it easy man. I was asking IF they were GE's, I also said I didn't remember. All I do know for fact as for as much noise as they make, they sure don't make much power.

Secondly before you jump all over me where did I even mention Pro Line 21's? I said that like the LR-60 it uses the Pro Line 4 (four) (IV) (One Two Three FIZ-FOUR).

Love the radios, don't care too much for trying to get in and out of the cockpit though:) .

I can't find any "good" hotels in Wichita. I think they all suck. However, do absolutely go to the Red River Canyon Grill over on the East side of town. It's one of my favorite restaurants.

There are lots of good restaurants on the east side. P.F. Changs, Abuelos (SP?). Webb Rd and Rock Rd have most of the good eats. If you can't find it on Rock Rd, you don't need it.

The schedulers can offer advice on Hotels if you ask them. There is a brand new Homewood Suites just north of FSI up by PF Chang's and Abuelo's. If you are into Hilton's, it is not a bad way to go. I just stayed there in Jan. and it was nice.

I'm telling ya'll, Scotch & Sirloin is where it's at!

You won't be disappointed. Women are hot there and the food is superb.

They sent me a list of hotels, I just wanted to make sure there weren't any to stay away from:) . Sounds like most of them are at least ok.

I'll definately be hittin' up all the restaurants! Thanks everyone!
