Why you don\'t put all your eggs in 1 basket
After being in my unit for 4 and a half years I was just told by the guy in charge of pilot hiring that they will not interview me for a UPT slot. I didn't bother asking why, it couldn't possibly be good. I don't have anything in my Unfavorable Informaiton File, haven't been in long enough for an EPR. Here's my stats.
23 years old
4+ years in unit
Activated for last year and a half
B.S. Aviation
3.5 GPA
Comm SE/ME
CFI, CFII, MEI
Typed in CE-500, CE-525
570TT
AFOQT scores: Pilot 95, Nav 93, Academic 90, Quanitative 85, Verbal 72.
PCSM- 96.
Folks, this is why you never put all your eggs in one basket. I've been told by many people that I was pissing my money away geting all the ratings and an aviation degree, I could just go to UPT after I graduate and have the AF train me. Good thing I had a solid plan B.
