Lloyd I see you like your Treo. I just bought one, still trying to figure it out. How do I send you a txt message? I know how to receive email.
Man, I LOVE my Treo! It can take a while to learn all of it's little tricks, but once you do, you're in heaven! Have you ever used a Palm device before? That was my saving grace!!
To send a text message, just hit the button to the right of the 4-way controller. It should take you to the "Messaging" page. I'll send you one and you can reply to it!
There's also a "messaging" icon on the main applications screen. Hit that and it'll take you into the page.
Tech geek warning! Nerd talk ahead!
Also, I have a problem. My tenncom server has a POP server but not a SMTP (outgoing mail server.) This is because my web admin does not want spammers to use it for relaying junk mail.
Can I use the sprint-pcs server to send my emails? but still use my tenncom domain name?
Oh, yes - without a doubt! I had the same problem, but it's an easy work-around.
1. Open VersaMail
2. Open the drop-down menu, then go to "Accounts-->Account Setup".
3. Select your account from the list, then click "Edit"
4. Your Account name should be there, and the protocol should be "POP". Click "Next"
5. Your Username and password (For your incoming mail) should already be in place. Click next.
6. Your Email Address should be here, along with your incoming mail server. Your outgoing mail server should be "smtp.sprintpcs.com". Click next.
7. Click "Advanced"
8. Port should remain "110", no boxes checked. Click "Next".
9. Outgoing port should be "25", and you should check "Use Authentication (ESMTP). Your username will now be your Sprint PCS Vision username. It's in your phone, you can also get it by calling Sprint if you don'
t know it. Your password will be your PCS Vision password. Again, call Sprint if you don't know it.
10. Click "Done", and enjoy your email!!!

I've never heard of a company that doesn't allow outgoing mail...it's the whole point of email...to send AND receive
Actually not that uncommon. Alot of web-hosting companies (that just offer hosting) will only give you an outgoing mail server. By virtue of the fact that you already have internet access, you already have access to an SMTP server!
