Hi
I got my PPL and IR and I would like to know which training do I need to acomplish? Do I need only the multienigne commercial before applying with a company?
I don't want to waist my money to get the single engine commercial and not use it if I'll work for an airline. Do you know guys if we can apply for a job in the middle east with an FAA license?

Please guys help.
Thanks

I cant think of a situation where you wouldnt use a single engine commercial.

I'd be more concerned with getting a Multi Commercial and not being able to use it for a couple years. Get the single commercial, save your money, and then get the multi when you can actually use it.

Since you asked about working in Middle east, I must tell you majority of the pilot shired in middle east are High time and well experience pilots. Not only they have both CSEL and CMEL, but they also have CFI - CFII and MEI. Now a days the more the rating the merrier it is.

If he wants to work in the Middle East, he might want to look at the requirements for Copa and other Latin American airlines. Some of them hire ex-pats. Middle Eastern airlines pick up some guys from Copa and Latin American airlines.

In any case, get the CPL-SEL and then the MEL. Get a CFI and build time. Try to find a school that will pay for your II,MEI or save money from CFIing to get your II,MEI.

If you are confident in your skills, try to apply to Cathay. I saw on their website that they take no and low hour ex-pats from everywhere for their SO program. If you dont mind going through their screening program and being an SO, it could be a good program to look at if you are short on money.

If you are in London and have some money, try FlyBe. They have a MPL program right now. It is a way to get experience in EMB190 before applying to a ME airline.

Thanks guys

Do I need to pass the ATP?
for the cfiI...it 's just about time as i have a limited budget, do i need to follow up after the commercial multi engine?
Thx

As others have said, do you commercial SINGLE engine. You're not going to get hired with 250 hrs and a commercial multi. Once you do the single engine, get your CFI. That will be your first job. Build time, save money, then get your commercial multi.

You do not need to pass your ATP for commercial or CFI. You need to pass it for your ATP rating, which isn't until 1500 hours.

Thanks guys

Personally I think you're jumping the gun. With your limited budget, experience and economy I would recommend saving your money so that when you build hours you are current.

There is nothing worse than a fella who has spread out a few thousand over a few years to stay in the game but can't fly worth beans, rather than to save - be out of aviation for a while, and slam in the currency and hours to be effectively marketable.

I think your short term goals are not long term enough. You come across as the type of person who thinks that with a certain magic number of hours and the "right" ratings you are going to find a job.

I have an offer for the middle east with 3000 hours plus bunches of king air time, and I'm on the low end of their applicants.

I'd be the most concerned with actually opening the FAR's and having a peek. Sounds to me like you have had a few instructors who tought you the bare minimums to get through your checkride. Don't you ever remember being told "pro-rata share" and "you can't fly and make money at it untill you get a commercial rating?"

Well said.

I didn't see anywhere in the OP's posts where he/she said they were making money flying as a PP. The only thing he/she seems to be mixed up on is the ATP requirements. He/she mentioned they are going to get either a CSEL or MEL before applying. Although its unrealistic that they will get a multi job for a while, I don't see the same problems you are seeing here.

Your right. I totally misread his post. I missed one key word, and it changed the whole nature of the post. I didn't see the word only. My bad.
