What would YOU do?

Thanks guys, but to clarify - this ain't about me. I'm really sort of whining about the flight school management and I'm not trying to give myself kudos or anything. Kudos to the student though - but really, some front desk lady shouldn't have been questioning him anyway.

No worries, but you got to give credit where credit is due. :hiya:

As for the desk lady......:banghead: I feel your pain....

:yeahthat:

And for me personally I wouldn't go since I learnd to fly in SoCal and have no experience at all with convective weather.

Actually, my favorite part of all this is:

She immediately told me even though he was a PPL, maybe he shouldn't have solo privileges at the school.

If I ever had an FBO tell me that, I'd tell them where to stick it, then I would walk to the phone right in front of her, call ANOTHER FBO, and tell them that I wanted to find a new place to fly because my current FBO didn't have a clue.

But then, that might be why I used to get those "doesn't play well with others" note on my report card.:D

I have really, really been thinking about moving over to the school across the street and taking my students with me. I only have a few weeks left here, but still.

The thing that would get me is the boomers.

I've flirted with one before and I ain't doing it again.

Those of you who know about the ADIZ know you call your airport in sight and then you land. Well, between the time I called my airport in sight and the time I crossed over an airport five miles away, the winds had gone from about five knots to 25 gusting to 40 and swirling.

Not a good place to try to put down a C172.

So I got vectors to another airport. On my way to that airport, I was getting tossed around hard. My sectional, which was in the passenger seat, ended up in my lap. I banged my knees against the yoke hard enough to leave bruises

I'm not doing that again, and I'm definitely not doing that with a passenger.
