What would you do?

Still here.
I had an agreement to work for $12/hr. I've been fueling their planes full time for 5 months now and I'm still getting $10/hr. There are no health benefits. I gave up time in hopes of getting more money for flying. Today when the owner was confronted, he said everything is "frozen" because the company is moving to a new building....BS... it's been 5 months. Anyways, I think the amount I have been swindled out of is in excess of $1000.

I'm obviously looking for a new job.
Should I take it to small claims court?

Please remember this if you ever get the idea to fly for King Airelines.

Accidentally spill some of his gas on the ramp, or forget to charge a few people. When he asks about it, tell him you spaced it because you were thinking about that money that he is screwing you out of.

Try and line something else up if you choose to go this route though.

Hahaha nice.

I have something semi-certain that I am going to call on tomorrow. Other than that I am printing out resumes and hitting all the airports.

Agreement, ew...

Yes = A Contract
No = A Handshake
Anything said verbally, "It's get the hell out of here, I never said that."

I think I'd cruise.

Fuel is important, if they're treating you that badly as a fueler, just imagine what they do to their pilots!

Put sand in the gas tank of the fuel truck before you leave...thatll learn him.

edit...NOT the tanker part you put fuel into airplanes from.

"Dear Dough,

On the advice that I heard on your forum about my employment situation, an interesting occurence has arisen..."

:)

One of their ex - 207s is in BHB getting some work done to it, and will be flying the Coastal Maine Islands out of RKD in a little bit. That is all I know about them. The plane looked reasonable, however there was no interior at the time.

Eeesh!

They can use a web designer!

That's what happens when business owners get ahold of MS Frontpage (or worse, WORD...hey I've seen it done) and think they know what they're doing...

You know, there is a list of certain offenses considered hazaardous to aviation. Like arson, forging faa docs, stealing airplanes, etc.
Seeing that I want to stay in this industry a bit longer, I would like to remain capable of answering "no" to all the "have you ever been convicted of or tried for...?" 's

:)

You need to look at the big picture. Could staying on this guys good side lead to something good for you. Could it be worth $2/hr? Maybe...Maybe not.

I once worked at Lake Mead Air in Boulder City for the worst boss. I left to go to work for the FAA and broke a verbal agreement to stay a year. Long story, short, he hired other guys without said agreement but I did promise I'd stay a year and didn't. I was on his sh*t list when I left and it cost me a twin job and probably a Skywest job, had I stuck around another six months. Now, hindsight is 20/20, and I have no doubt that the good Lord made things work out the way they did, but I'd have been a couple years ahead in my career had I somewhat kissed that guys butt at that time in my career, as he had some connections. It was bad to be on his sh*t list and it cost me.

I would leave(unless this job might lead to others, as stated) You should find a higher paying job, as flying is quite expensive! If your in vegas, you should try to get behind a bar.

Me?!?! A drug dealer?! :confused::)

Oh lord, please no.

Keep it real, keep it legit. Sleep soundly.

I've worked as a lineman while flight training for a month short of a year now, and I've only gotten a $.50 raise. Granted, I work for a college as a college student. I'd love to make as much as you do fueling planes, but I do understand your situation. I'd stick it out for at least a little while, but start searching for other opportunites. If you find one you can't resist, then take it.
