What was your first job after getting your dispatch license?

I've just kind of been wondering what to expect, and I thought it might be interesting to have a thread like this to see where everyone went when they first got their license to set some expectations for myself...
So, if you are comfortable saying it, where was your first job after you first became licensed?

I got a job with a regional airline called Business Express that did flying for Northwest and Delta. Took me about 2 1/2 months to find a gig after I got my license - it was the fourth one I interviewed with.

After I received my license I was working as a gate/ticket agent for Air Wisconsin. After a few months I decided to apply to their crew scheduling position to soon cross over to dispatch at some point. During my move after taking the scheduling position I received a phone call saying someone left dispatch and that I should apply. Once I got to the SOC I was immediately transferred into dispatch. Never saw a day in scheduling.

5 weeks after obtaining my dispatch liscense, I accepted a job at Seaborne on the beautiful island of St Croix

Received my license in December of 2007; first job offer came in middle of January of 2008 - some supplemental carrier out of Rockford, IL called Ryan International Airlines. The Manager there was from Cancun, and apparently the NICEST person you will ever meet.

My first gig I was offered before I graduated school at a joint called Corporate Airlines in Smyrna, TN., flying Junkstreams for TWA and Midway Airlines. My first day on the job was going to be September 12th, 2001. We all knew what happened September 11th, and the next day Midway Airlines folded, grounding half of Corporate's fleet and ending my gig there before it even started. So I guess you could say my first gig where I actually did dispatch work was Air Midwest out of Wichita, KS pushing around Beech 1900D's.

Got my license in late 2009, and didn't have much luck for nearly a year before landing a job with Era Aviation in Anchorage, AK dispatching DH8As and B190s. Top notch experience!

Started interviewing days after my practical. AIRINC Direct, CommutAir, GoJet, Pinnacle, and Sky King all within three weeks. Took the job at Sky King which was close to my current residence and was a 121 sup with 737's. They had domestic and international, so it was good experience.

After getting my license, possibly before some of you were born or at least in diapers, interviewed at 4 different companies and was offered a position at 2 of them.
I think the only reason I was offered the one is because I drove 15 hours nonstop to do the interview. They were unable to fly me there. Yet that is the one that I accepted (TZ)

Got the ticket in June of 2001. Hired on as a dispatcher at TransMeridian in Feb 2002. At the time we had 5 727's doing mostly vacation flying from cold places to the Caribbean and Mexico. Between 9/11 and not really wanting to take a huge paycut from the job I had, I wasn't hardcore applying for jobs (nor where there many to be had).

My story is a lot like av8or757, I work as an assistant dispatcher (pretty much a crew scheduler) currently with Corvus Airlines (also known as Ravn Alaska, formerly known as Era Aviation) and am still working on getting that license to get the ticket onward. Hopefully sooner rather than later...

MAK49 I'd venture to say you're in a better spot than myself. Though I have a license you're actually dispatching whereas I have yet to put mine to any constructive use.

If you're dispatching now I'm sure you'll do fine in getting your ticket. Good luck
