just wondering what everyone's vision is?

do you wear glasses? contacts? nothing?

at what age did you start wearing them?

My Vision is 20/325 without glasses. I started wearing glasses when I was 8 years old.

With glasses my vision is 20/15

Mine was bad, but Ihad Lasik 5 years ago, and now I can see!! :)

I don't have the stones to go in for the laser treatment. I am too afraid of being the 1% that ends up blind.

My husband feels the same way. I am not a pilot, so while I do very much so need my eyes, it's not as big of an issue as it is for him. Is there really a statistic that 1% go blind? Cause I have never heard that. I've heard that 1% have problems with halos, dark or light spots, blurryiness, and flap removal that has to be stitched back on, but I didn't know anyone ever went all the way blind.

i sure hope you forgot the sarcasm tag. 20/200 is legally blind.

Well let me check....NO that is my vision without glasses.

Legally Blind is someone whose vision cannot be corrected to better than 20/200 with glasses or contacts. You had part of the definition though.

I was a legally blind airline pilot before LASIK. Now, I'm about 20/40 and wear glasses to drive or fly. Have regressed a bit but they told me that's the norm. Hope it doesn't get any worse.

No problems with the FAA, halo's, or any of the other BS folks talk about LASIK.

Your mileage may very.....

20/300, I can't read the big E on the eye chart. 20/10 with contacts or glasses. Don't have the marbles to get the eye surgery done, maybe when I am out of flying I will do it.

Is it age degeneration? Or just your vision getting worse again? I worried that mine would get worse again, but it hasn't yet in 5 years. I'm guessing it will though when I'm in my 40's or so. Will they give you a touch up?

1st class med holder? If you can do it, hell I don't even know what my vision is except I know what my perscription strength is. . .never the less, if you can do it, makes it easier for me to not worry about the 1st class physical. lol

20/20 near vision, 20/15 mid-vision, 20/13 far vision. No correction. Fortunate, as three siblings (of five) have glasses, and my mom has macular degeneration.
