Hey everyone. I used to work as a flight planner for an international trip support company, mostly handling flights to South America, Africa and parts of Asia.
One thing that always frustrated me was how scattered airport operational data is, especially outside the US. For domestic US operations you guys have great tools like aviationweather.gov, FAA NOTAMs, ForeFlight, etc. But for international ops it was always a nightmare. Landing permits, handling contacts, fees, customs requirements… every country has different sources, different formats, half the time the info is outdated.
Curious what tools dispatchers here use for international operations. Specifically:
∙ Where do you get reliable handling/FBO info for airports outside the US?
∙ How do you check overflight permit requirements by country?
∙ What do you use for international NOTAMs that actually works?
∙ Do you have a go-to source for landing fees and customs info?
