What other pilot forums are available?

Yo Alex. I'm still pursuing Avianca. Working on the Espanol.

As for airlinepilotcentral, I used my school e-mail and signed up. I'm going to check it out more in detail. Thanks.

What's the going rate on the DOBs now that the Euro is limping along? And any truth to it being called the Allah Dallah by the locals?

Durka durka Allah jihad!

There are lots of other pilot websites. If you're looking for an online community, this is it. Look no further.

While I don't regularly post on any of them, FI, APC, PPW, and pprune all have their uses. Of those I like APC the best.

Used to go to AOPA a lot. Only one other forum that I watch - Waco Club (they have an amazing forum, particularly if you are restoring. Very active). I started at APC and that is where I found out about JC. Qgar and CalCapt led the charge here.

While APC does seem to have it's share of trolls, there is two good spots, namely the humongously large thread concerning all things Delta, and the upcoming UAL/CAL foodfight.

I spend most of my time here, but Flightinfo usually has the newest information up first if you're looking for airline stuff. You just have to sift through the name-calling. I'm not a big fan of APC, and I hate PPW.

JC is about the only one I post on these days. I lurk APC here or there, and outright quit subscribing to PPW. Never seen a bigger collection of jerks on one website.

I use to look at airlinepilot central a little as well as the pilot rumor one. I like this community the best. Lately I have seen a little more name calling going on around here than usual, but generally this is one of the more mature message boards I have been too.

I think you should ask this question at the other big pilot websites.:D

FYI: Jetcareers is the only one out of them that will let you ask a question like this. That is all I need to know about what website is the best.

This. You so much as mention the fact that there are other pilot message boards in Those Other Places and you'll be slapped so hard your head will spin around.

I will say that the one people are slagging hardest might have its uses if you're looking for a corporate job, but none of them are a community like this. I visit the others maybe once a month, here at least once a day. No comparison.

All the forums seem to have their specific niches. Jetcareers seems best for the up and coming pilots and is a great service for people just starting out in the industry. Flight Info used to be okay, but after the original owner tragically died in a plane crash it went downhill very fast and is now populated by too many trolls. Most of the good members left to go to ProPilotWorld where no trolls are allowed because all members are checked against the FAA database and must have a commercial certificate or higher. Moderation is done only when necessary and no personal attacks are allowed. It's a very good resource for corporate pilots and a great way to network in that segment of aviation. It also has good airline specific discusions but not to the extent of Airline Pilot Central. PPrune is good for the international arena and easily has the best technical discussions, but far too many personal attacks for my taste.

If I were go by my personal post count in the last two years then my vote goes:

ProPilotWorld
Jetcareers
Airline Pilot Central
PPrune
Flight Info

The disclaimer being that I'm a moderator on PPW :D

Actually that's a pretty good run down from what I've seen. I'd probably be at PPW more because it really is a good corporate pilot haven, but I spend too much time here at JC to afford any more on-line time elsewhere (I may regret that in the future if my situation changes and I need the corporate contacts, but I figure my time spent here is for a really good cause and I will live with that decision). I've never done PPrune, but your analysis of the others, and here, is pretty spot on.
