What is the \"centrifugal stop pin\" on the seminole?

My guess is it has something to do with prop feathering and engine shut down but I'm not sure. Obviously! Thanks in advance.

Re: What is the \"centrifugal stop pin\" on the seminole?

If the prop is turning under 950 rpm, the pins slip into place and prevents feathering. This is handy at shutdown. It would put alot of stress on the engines if the props were feathered during startup.

Is this the same thing as a "prop lock?"
