What happened??

So, Im sitting here at the airport staring at an empty ramp. The sun is shining, theres not a hint of a cloud, the wind is calm and it's 70*. NO ONE is flying! What happened? Are we too starting to feel the pressures of the economy here at KLOZ?? Up until about a month ago, we have had steady VFR traffic (locals), and a little less IFR traffic than normal, but still a pretty decent flow for our airport! I just can't believe that on a day like this nobody is rolling out of bed thinking how nice it would be to escape the worries of the world and take to the air! This whole economy thing is REALLY starting to PISS ME OFF!!

GA flying was down before the economy hit the crapper... even with a good paying job, I'm not interested in spending $140 on hour on anything that doesn't involve a happy ending.

MOTHERS DAY?? THATS NO EXCUSE!!! :sarcasm:

On a side note, my observations are not of today only (it was just an example), but of most days in the past month! Our business has dropped drastically in the past month! Hopefully it will get better!

And I'm an idiot for not thinking of Mothers Day! I was actually writing in my own mothers card right before I posted that!

Yeah, it's Mother's Day morning, most people are doing the morning church/brunch thing or taking their Mommies out to breakfast or just spending the morning doing something for their wife/mom.

Personally, I think an hour or two up flying would make a GREAT Mother's Day present for some Mommies.... :D

That's what I was thinking! It looks like I've got some traffic headed this way according to FlightAware. Maybe today won't play out as boring as I thought! VFR traffic seems to be picking up today as well. Since my OP, I've had a few planes fly in.

be happy you have such good conditions where you are and go flying! Out here in Boston, this is the current weather: [FONT=Monospace,Courier]26016G22KT ....past the limits set by the flying club.....and too darn bumpy up there to make it any fun anyway.

I would go flying if only I didnt have a pesky little thing called a job! I'm workin at the airport, not just hanging out! Trust me, If I were off work, I'd be flying! :nana2:

I would say landing the airplane without bending it is a happy ending.

Oh...wait...I see what you mean...
