i'm just wondering what the traditional route is about. i asked to schedule a tour of the facility and the secretary of the atm told me that i was going to have an interview and bring in any paperwork that i have. i have none other than my atsat score and my application. just wondering what i should do and wear. i wonder if i should wear a suit or if i should just wear a shirt and tie. any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

This is the way it happened for me.

Back in June, I was notified by HR that I was chosen to interview if I was still interested in a position with the FAA and that I would have to go the Traditional Route because the PEPC was full. I accepted. About two weeks later, I was called for an interview and went to the Center here in Memphis for my interview. A couple of weeks passed by, and I was notified that my interview went well and I was on to the next level. I received my TOL and a bunch of paperwork to fill out. I filled it all out and faxed it, then was invited to the Atlanta PEPC in August.

I didn't go through the rest of the traditional process because I went to the PEPC. But according to the paperwork I received when I originally started the traditional process, you have a certain amount of time to schedule appointments to get your medical, etc. done. A friend of mine did the Traditional at the same time as me, and he was done with everything by the time I made it to the PEPC in August.

um yea i just called for a tour told them my atsat score and the lady scheduled me for an interview. i'll go whatever process they want

atsat 100

I've never heard of anyone getting an interview before the selection panels! Is this common for people to get interviews before referral lists and panels?

Maybe I should call JNU and see if they want to bring me in.

yea i think so to so i'm not trying to read into this that much. but at the same time i'm going to dress to impress. and try to interview well. oh and to answer your question i know just as much as you

Sounds like a tour, not an interview. Still, if he ends up getting a referral, he wants to make a good impression in case he has to go back for a REAL interview.

thats what i was thinking but the training manager said that they don't do tours, but that i could meet up with the atm. the atm's secretary said that she is scheduling me for an interview, and to bring all the paperwork that i have which is nothing, but she first asked for my score on the atsat. i told her she said it was really good, and told me it was an interview. I'm still gonna treat it like an interview, just in case it is, but i'm not gonna get my hopes up about it.

had my "interview". was more like a meet and greet with a tour. even though they don't do tours. found out the atm picks who gets hired on the eastern seaboard. he told me he wont forget my name and that he doesn't see very many 100's. he knows i'm pubnat 8 and told me he won't forget me if they get to ots. says i got a good shot at job, decent shot at where i want to work he did ask basic questions like what sparked your interest in atc. he explained pay and benefits and we chatted for a while.he told me not to pick ny 1st or i'll get picked up there first so geo prefs(whenever they come out) not picking that first but second

mr. miller thats what he told me dude, i'll be gullible and believe him:rotfl:he told me the dates for pubnat 8 selection panels and told me he chooses for boston new york atlanta somewhere in carolinas florida puerto rico and guam i think. i may get a false sense of hope but its better than none

I actually know a guy who gave me a secret code to put in my application that gives me first preference over basically everyone. I even get to pick my OKC date. So I quit my job and sold the house but I am going to wait a few months before I start. He said I can try either terminal or enroute and decide which one I like more.
