What does "20/20 Minus" mean?

Hello Dr.,

My ophthalmologist told me that my vision is 20/20 in my right eye and 20/20 minus in my left eye. Does this mean that my left eye cannot be corrected to 20/20? I am worried because to qualify for a first or second class medical one needs 20/20 with or without correction.

When the AME checks your eyes and they re 20/20, that is what will count. Don't worry about it.
