you gotta love this quote though

"FAA is an organization of General Aviation pilots tasked with policing, among other things, General Aviation. FAA has become corrupted due to this conflict of interest. We are finding the same pattern of lies and abuse across this nation. This institutionalized misconduct renders FAA incapable of fulfilling its regulatory duties to the public. We will tell that story here."

Loosers!

The opposition is frightened. The opposition is concerned that if one person can stand up and just say no to recreational flying, then where might it all end. Pretty soon most people will assert that they should not have to subsidize recreational aviation with their homesteads either. As we have often heard the conflicted FAA inspector moan "But where will they fly?", we continue to reply "We don't care but they can't do it here".

Oohh...So bold!!

Subsidize with their homestead? Yeah, whatever. Those people need to get a clue, get a brain, and get help for their rectal cranial inversion. An airplane flying a couple thousand feet AGL probably makes less noise than one of the lawnmowers they're firing up this weekend.

Unbelievable! What Mencken said about the American public and going broke is right!

What I don't get is why their stupid case hasn't been thrown out yet! The federal government took on the task of regulating the nation's airspace to prevent pilots/airlines from being subjected to 50+ different regulatory schemes across the country. There should be no dispute that the claims by these idiots (that they should be allowed to regulate access to all airspace over their land, which would result in 100+ MILLION different regulatory schemes) are completely preempted by federal law!!

If anyone wants to flood this moron's shallow gene pool, er, I mean mail box with letters from responsible pilots, here's the email address.

I would strongly recommend not doing that (as satisfying as it might feel). It'll just result in e-mails they will waive around in front of the court to demonstrate how "evil" pilots are. Just ignore them. Let AOPA and the defense lawyers do their thing. Writing to them can't help and could really hurt.

Why do I sometimes feel that the FAA is an organization of AIRLINE pilots, then...... GA tends to get left out in the cold.

It depends. If you do it in an educational style, tell them that a plane flying 2000 feet AGL results in less noise exposure to them than a lawn mower that their neighbors fire up, and so on, that's one thing.

Given the nature of these kind of people, they'll probably respond with name calling and insults, which gives our side more ammo to say, these people don't want to listen to facts, see?

However, if you start the insult fest, then you do more damage than good for our side.

True. But I wouldn't trust myself not to get nasty with those chiclet-lobed troglodites, and I litigate for a living. In any case, educational style or not, I don't see that there's a snowball's chance of talking those people out of anything. They've decided that their rights are superior to those of everyone else on the planet. Not much to work with there.

The Carty Finkbeiner Solution. Old but relevant?

"The mayor of Toledo, Ohio has come under fire after offering a possible solution to complaints about noise from the airport: Move deaf people into the neighborhoods surrounding the airport."

Some issues I have with these people.

-From the "who we are" section...

"We may tolerate general aviation craft engaged in legitimate point-to-point navigation. What we won't tolerate are aerobatics, Sunday flyers, leaf peepers, and flight schools using our airspace as recreational sites or as industrial training areas for their personal profit and amusement at our expense."

You "are" obviously a group of people to ignorant to learn more about those crazy "sunday flyers" and "leaf people".....I mean peepers.

-Their mission statement

"It is the mission of
STOP the NOISE
to restore peace and quiet
to our lands and skies
by empowering property owners and by restoring local control
over the non-essential, recreational uses of the airspace
which is part of our lands."

You think that you got airspace with that 1/2 acre lot you just bought? Does it reach to the flight levels? Why do want to control to something you just called "non-essential?"

At this point, I think both this groups low level of intelligence, and ignorance in things natural and communal don't deserve any further attention. I refuse to read any more off their website.

--Saluations aviators!

When I was at Disney, there was the total "the Disney company can do no wrong" guy that I worked with. He kept claiming that Disney bought the airspace overhead from the FAA so planes wouldn't fly over. About that time, a 172 doing a practice approach into ISM flew over. I pointed and said "Does he know that?"

Scary thing is, this was in 1999. He's probably thumbing his nose at me right now. He did get fired from Disney right before I left. Sad thing is, he still thinks they are a great company to work for even after they fired him on trumped up charges b/c a supervisor didn't like him.

I heard the TFR was there for security reason - does that mean Disneyland is a terrorist target - not sure I want to go there then!
