I have been working in Michigan for 2 years 135 cargo now, and am ready to start looking for a way to move back home as my wife and I are fairly homesick, and miss family and friends. I know this can be a hard part of the country to find good opportunities, but if anyone can provide any direction I would be extremely grateful.

My background includes 1.5 years of flight instructing, tailwheel, private, instrument, commercial, of which I have about 1000 hours of dual given. Since leaving instructing I have built about 1500 hours of turbine PIC time in the Beech 99 and Beech 1900 aircraft, bringing me up to about 3000 hours total time, 1900 Multi, almost all of which is PIC. I have a flight instructor license for SEL and MEL and a Comm SE, ATP ME B1900 type.

I know of many flight schools, since I originally instructed in this area that I could instruct at, but unfortunately while I enjoyed flight instructing tremendously, I can't afford to go back to flight instructing, and need a job in the area that starts at 55-60k. I am also exploring options that offer home basing such as netjets, and omni air, but if anyone has any more information on them I would appreciate that as well! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any help you can provide!

I used to work for Aero Air and your quality of life and money would be better with us. With a week on week off it's not too bad commuting to Lewiston. Most everyone commutes there now.

Seaport. Our captains are making $40 an hour to start after one year you can expect $46 per flight hour plus other bonus pay. Figure your pay goes up $6 per hour every six months.

Another option is Penair. You would start as a First Officer, but I think an upgrade could happen in a little over a year.

I work for Lifeflight and we do have an opening but not in the Portland area.

Hey I'm working for Aero Air right now, but might be moving south depending on how things pan out here at our base. Looking at Lifeflight's hiring they have a position in LaGrande? What is the job like? Starting pay and schedule okay? That would be awesome to know. Many Thanks for the help!

Just adding a new question to this thread, since it still seems relevant, rather than opening up a new topic, I have applied lately to a bunch of different companies, NetJets, Wheelsup, Aeroair, pretty much most opportunities that would either allow home basing, or a move back closer to home. Was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to hear back from these companies, or new opportunities that might happen to exist in the area again. Thanks in advance! Currently at about 3400 total time, 2000 multi, 2000 multi engine turboprop PIC BE99 and BE1900 aircraft.

Just would like to bump this thread, still looking for any opportunities or new ideas anyone can think of, so far the companies I have applied for are netjets, wheels up, AMRG air ambulance (says you can commute to some positions listed in colorado), UPS, Fedex, Delta, United, (all long shots I know, but why not put an app in), as well as Aero Air. As of yet, over the past 3 months of applying have yet to receive a phone call or an email. If anyone has any other ideas I would really appreciate it, I unfortunately don't have any recommendations or know anyone at any of the mentioned operators, which is definitely a hurdle.

Atlas allows you to live "anywhere".

Fugro's hiring and you should be able to negotiate something like that with your total time. 20 on/10 off and you can commute so being out of Oregon or Washington is fine as they pay for your airfare. They've got 3 Conquests, 2 Navajos and a 310 and are looking to add 3 caravans. I don't know if you're up for survey, but you'd also be getting GSA per diem while you're deployed.
