Assist the Safety Manager in monitoring the effectiveness of SMS, initiate corrective actions when necessary and provide inputs as directed for safety reports on SMS performance on a periodic basis.</span></span></p> <p><strong><span><span>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span></strong></p> <ul> <li><span><span>Complete RW aircraft H-60 recurrent training and undertake rotational foreign service as an H-60 Pilot-Flight Safety Officer OCONUS.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Plans flight assignments and obtains information regarding purpose of flight, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Assist in planning and execution of RW flight assignments as directed by the aircraft PIC.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ensure proper flight equipment is aboard.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Accomplish the aircraft preflight inspection and preparation.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ensure proper loading, distribution, and security of cargo and passengers.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Confirm the aircraft weight and balance is within prescribed limits.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Assist in tracking and logging of aircraft flight time and the filing and closing of flight plans and preparation of flight and duty time records.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Assist PIC in ensuring passenger safety and assuring ramp security is maintained while passengers are boarding or disembarking.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Accept responsibility for functions as delegated by the aircraft PIC.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Identify safety hazards, risks, and promote the reduction or elimination of potentially hazardous conditions that may lead to accidents, occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and safety-related financial losses.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Monitor reports and investigate all aircraft accidents/incidents to determine the cause of the accident and formulate recommendations to help prevent similar mishaps in the future.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Detailed data entry of technical information necessary in assisting in the monitoring of mishap reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Provide written reports which are clear, concise, and meaningful for all safety matters.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Assist in maintaining accident and incident records, files, and reports.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Process Safety Hazard Reports include investigating the hazard and ensuring mitigations are in place.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Other duties as assigned.</span></span></li> </ul> <p></p>
