Vision Airlines

I love chicken wings and beer....
I was wondering if there was someone here on the forum that has worked or currently works for Vision.

I was wondering what is going on with Vision? I see they have only one scheduled route between GPT and PIE but also see they do a lot of charters on the 734. Do they still operate the 762 and if so, where do they fly?

The only thing I know about them from living here in Vegas is that they have canyon tours out of VGT to CGN.

Any information would help!

I don't know anything about Vision I am afraid. However, if you are looking for information about Las Vegas based airlines, I would avoid Elite Airways based on what I know of the management there. I think Allegiant may be hiring soon also.

Thanks manniax!

I use to work for Allegiant and from what I was told, they maybe hiring early next year but they aren't 100% sure with the addition of the A319.
I thought Elite was a flight school out of VGT?

Don't know what Elite is up to these days, last I heard they were trying to launch some kind of scheduled service out of New England to Florida airports - I think they are headquartered in LAS though. According to their web site, which I do not feel like linking to, they also offer "turnkey solutions" for people desiring to start up charter airline service. Here is a link to an article about their proposed New England operation:

Just based on experiences I have had with that company's management, I would advise to stay away. And, sorry to hijack your thread. Considering I worked in LAS for over three years, you'd think I would know someone that worked for Vision - but I don't.

I am assuming you are referring to Elites management? I see they are all mostly ex-national people. I am surprised Conway isn't trying to start up another airline these days.

Did you work for N7?

Did you work for N7?

I think Conway may have burned his bridges at this point with the airline industry after being fired by Air Jamaica. I did work for N7 for a while - good experience although I wish they'd handled some things differently, looking back. Their major flaw - thinking the price of jet fuel would never go up.

All my info is outside-looking-in because I follow Vision closely as they are a neat outfit and I like to keep tabs on 767-200 carriers as they go to crazy places with the plane.

The VPS and MYR hubs with the 737 were a flop. Seems to me most of the current 737 flying is casino work only. They lost the CIA 767 contract out of IAD and subsequently parked the three PW 767s (Old UA birds) in SDF and by the sounds of it have no desire to fly them again. N766VA is down in CCS flying MAD and EZE for Conviasa Airlines. Don't know much about the turbo prop operation or the Grand Canyon stuff. I do know they have a base or something in SDF though.

They made me scratch my head once though. They were contracted by USA3000 (I was there at the time) to fill in for an A320 that was AOG. They were suppose to do RSW-CLE-CUN-CLE IIRC. Took a massive delay out of MIA for the 91 leg to RSW and then realized they were not allowed to fly into Mexico once in CLE (they had filed the flight plan and everything).

Might not have the story totally straight but still makes you wonder either way.

Thanks g767!

They have a dispatcher position open and have applied for it. I know they did a lot of flying and competed with my former airline, Allegiant, out of PIE. I like the company because they have been around for close to 20 years and they are a local airline. I was just wondering if they were going to pick up the again in 2013.

I knew about the 767 flying but all I really heard it was put on hold for a while.

Nope, North American won the flying with two 300s now.
