SO...

My flight school should be getting a 135 cert for our new 2004 Saratoga ([drool] ohhhhh it's a SWEET plane, but that's another story, anyway [/drool]

)....
and I just meet the VFR PIC reqs for 135 (500 TT; 100 XC; 25 night).

I was wondering what can be done that would be useful for 135 in the VFR only area?

Thanks all

Not quite sure what kind of idea's you're looking for... but I'm a part 135 VFR guy and I have flown everthing from checks to organs to passengers, among other things. There is really a lot that you can do, just have an IFR guy handy for when the weather gets iffy!

That's about what I thought, I figured passengers would be tough, since they want to get where they're going when they want to get there, and if weather rolls in, I can't do much for them.

BTW, Welcome to JC! Thanks for the info.

Yeah, the only bummer is the IFR thing. You can't fly in IMC at all or when the airport is reporting below VFR. When I was first starting out, I flew a B-36 turbo Bonanza around for a 135 operator. Flew passengers around Socal. Weather did become an issue from time to time due to the coastal stratus. I had a great time though, what a cool single.

Hey thanks for the welcome... even though the IFR thing can be a big deal, don't be discouraged. While it is the season for crummy weather you know as well as I do that it's VFR 90% of the time and then when you start talking about things like special VFR more possibilities open up. Get that 8410 man!! It's a reeeally good thing for the old resume. I was lucky enough to get mine in a 210 at 650 hours. A week later they needed me in the Baron and now about two months in and almost 300hrs later they're talking about putting me in the King Air. I think don't necessarily believe them but the chance at PIC twin turbo time is making me drool~ I'll let you know about that one.... Anyways, let me know if you have any questions.
