Does anyone know any good sites that help you on your flight planning? I tried and search but it only shows the flight planner log....I need like step by step planning, calculations, etc. If anyone out there knows what I'm talking about, please post link.

Whiz wheel works wonders. (lazy ass!)

you'll need it for the ride. The DE is gonna make you diver to somewhere. You're gonna need to find a heading, distance, and estimated time enroute.

ok ok ok. I am being an #######.

This is a great place to get information, advice, technical help etc. But nobody is going to give you a comprehensive lesson in flight planning and I doubt there is a website that will do that either.

You seriously need to work with your CFI on this one.

I'll do it through Gmail chat if you put $40 an hour in my paypal account :)

www.skyvector.com will keep us on the same page with the charts, we can use www.airnav.com as our AFD, if you have a whizwheel I can teach it online. The AIM is online and I bet we could find some flight planning forms online somewhere too.

Hmmmm never though about teaching ground online before but I don't see anything preventing it :)

Hey Hey.. we are all here to help. May I suggest the PHAK and Airplane Flying Handbook as references. If you have any questions, PM me. I'll be glad to help a fellow JCer. :)

The Jeppesen Private Pilot Manual is a great book. It pretty much spels it out step by step. I'm assuming that since you're taking lessons your instructor or school recommended a certain training "system" to use. Dare I say even the King School DVDs are helpful.

Get the wx, fly until you're at reserves, scan the WAC and attempt to land at the place with the cheapest gas. :)

I found that Rod Machado's Private Pilot book did a very good job of outlining a typical VFR trip. Also, it was a great help with airspace. Oh, and I really like the cartoons that he has in there too!
