Using Ground Instructor Privileges

Ok I passed the written a couple weeks ago for the AGI at the same time I took the FIA. I am aware of the regs under part 61 that say I can't exercise the privileges of an AGI unless I am endorsed by an authorized instructor, but don't I need to fill out an 8710 to have the AGI added to my certificate? My question is, where can I find that in the regs?

Thanks

The ground instructor certificate is a separate certificate not linked to your CFI or pilot certificate. So you will need to fill out an 8710 for your ground instructor certificate with your AGI rating.

Then you will need the endorsement to use, or just get employment as a CFI.

I'm on my phone do I don't have the regs with me but I think ground instructors are around 61.213

Ok thanks. I think I've checked just about everywhere under part 61 and all I'm seeing are the requirements for becoming a ground instructor and the privileges, but I'm not seeing anything about the 8710 and the separate certificate.

Does anyone know if a ground instructor has the privileges to teach and sign off (or give completion certificates for insurance/rentals) courses such as g1000 transition training, g430/530, ATC communications etc?

The FAA doesn't give a darn about any of that, so it's really a matter of whether the insurance company accepts it.
