If US Airways' cash balance falls below certain levels in September and October, the company could lose the financing that has allowed it to operate during bankruptcy.
The pilots' union has already said it will oppose the company's effort.

I sympathize with the pilots union, but they have fought the good fight. Now it is time to accept the 20% pay cut or take a 100% pay cut. I am starting to think maybe there was some truth to the story someone posted that a few of the senior captains were trying to take US Airways down with them.
A steady paycheck is better than no paycheck right? I mean of course pilots shouldn’t have to take pay cuts, but the situation at US Airways is beyond the point of just talking about going out of business.
Should they try to save the airline and there jobs, with hopes that things will get better? Or should they just say F-IT and try to find another job, when practically no one besides the regionals are hiring? And they will stop hiring as soon as the “market” is flooded with a bunch of ex-US Air guys with 1000’s of hours. Plus the regionals certainly aren’t going to be pay increases for those guys, so there taking a pay cut either way.
