US Airways A330 hits Severe Turbulence. Injures 6

I don't understand why I should wear my seatbelt during cruise flight?

I love it when dead heading in the back, and the seat belt sign is on with people walking all over. I want to yell at them "SIT YOUR ASS DOWN!"

I totally agree with you, but ranking similarly on my scale of pet peeves are the crews on long haul flights that don't keep watch on the sign. It's been smooth for 3 hours and the f/as keep pouring wine down my throat in biz class...it's happening in the lav or in the seat.

My biggest pet peeve are the walking gophers. The people that are constantly popping their heads up to look around then they get up and just kind of mill around in the isle, walking around, hanging out in the galley and other non essential things. I get it, stretch on a long flight once or twice but a dozen or so times? No. People do this on the short RJ flights too. Nothing like a butt lingering around at your face level in an RJ cabin. If your name isnt Kate Upton, sit yo ass down.

Since when did they start using A330s from PHL to MCO?

It's a mid day turn for the plane that becomes a sacrificial lamb when one of the other 330s scheduled to go across the pond has MX. That way they can either cancel or downgrade the MCO flight (they used to do this with the SJU flight all the time) and still cover the trans atlantic flight with a 330.

The A330 must have quite a few MX issues. ;)

6'5, bro. Six foot freaking five. My legs ain't stayin cramped in coach for 3.6 hours +. I'm that guy. The guy you love to hate. The guy in the galley of the Triple Seven on the Dubai- IAH leg. The guy in the galley on the London - Dallas leg. Upton's 5'10. I got her beat by over half a foot. My legs have about 2.8 in them. Anything longer, and I'm feeling like a Jack in the Box.

I was going to page seggy for this, but I see he's already been there. :)

They are taking delivery of all these 330s, but don't really have routes to put them on. They are doing CUN, MCO, SJU... Whatever floats their boat.

They could have sent them to SAV and JAX, but Delta already is sending widebodies there.

Honestly, my sniff test is if the FAs are up, I'll get up if I need to. Lots of crews just forget to turn them off.

@SeanD, I get up plenty. I have issues with my right knee if I'm down for too long in an economy seat.

Sorry gents, I guess I'm "that guy." But, I also go to Asia and back every 17 days in the back of a jet, so if anyone thinks I'm going to sit there like a church mouse in my seat, only getting up once or twice, and only peeing if/when the pilots turn the signs off, you've all got another thing coming. :)

Yes, The new American doesn't serve many intl destinations.

We may not serve many international destinations, but when we do, we most of them are served by widebodies! :D

So do we :)

They are shuffling the flying around. Mostly 767-300s and bigger across the pond now.
