I've been around these forums for a little while but never registered or posted. Well, I've always wanted to go to Riddle and become a AF pilot but now I want to be a commercial pilot. Little bit about me, im a senior in H.S. and have a GPA of 3.0 and ACT of 23. Current classes im in: Physics, Pre-Calc, Advanced comp,etc....so im taking some pretty hard classes.

I have narrowed it down to 2 schools in my area (mid-west): Dubuque and Illinois. I like Dubuque because its in-state so its cheaper and the speaker that came to talk about the aviation program said they hire their students as instructors first rather then someone who didn't graduate from that school.

Illinois I would get a BS in Aviation Human Factors and Dubuque I would go for BS in Flight Operations.

Which one of these 2 schools is better, I have heard good things about both?
or would you recommend a differnet school (UND,etc)?

I was looking into Illinois for awhile, but the $33,000 a year not counting flight fees scared me off. It does seem like a good program if you are willing to part with your money though.

When you look at price you have to see what you are comparing. I don't know what financial aid either school offers. When I was looking at colleges the cheaper school offered me thousands less in scholarships and grants, so my expensive school was cheaper. The other question is what type of experience are you looking for. I'm not at U of I, I went private, but my husband is a full time student finishing his BS in human factors this year. He loves the school, the flying program, the opportunity to be involved in flying team, etc. If you have anything more specific let me know. Ask here and I'll have him sign in, or shoot a pm and I can have him respond.
