United 2025

So I got that email last week from the UA recruiter encouraging to apply again. 2 days later I got the official TBNT email. And today, I applied with the new posting. But when I login to UA portal with my email it says “not selected”. But I didn’t get a new TBNT email? Is this an IT error or is anyone else seeing the same thing?
Give it a little bit. The application doesn't actually show up under "My Applications" immediately. That's probably your old application.

Curious where people at United live, specifically people who are married and have kids. Just some light perusing makes it seem like first year pay for somebody like that is...untenable...which is wild since it is a major with competitive pay.
We have people living everywhere from central Indiana to Wisconsin and in Chicago. UT most seem to be 30 minutes area of Arlington Heights. Just depends on how long you want to drive. There are car pools people are part of also. Property taxes are alot in Illinois.

For DX, with their schedule, I wouldn’t recommend commuting anywhere outside of the lower 48. All the other departments? Go for it. We have people that fly in from Singapore and Bahrain.
There were several ex-Continental Micronesia dispatchers that were commuting regularly to Guam and the Philippines, but they have since retired. They had a fair bit of seniority already when the merger happened, though.

You can't put a price on the peace of mind of having only a 10 minute drive to work for a commute. I still shake my head at how many of our pilots insist on commuting from Dubai or South Africa to Anchorage to work...

I’m hearing about people with less than two years of experience making it to the next step, which is kind of shocking. A friend of mine mentioned that someone at his work had less than two years of experience that made it to the HR Online portion. I wonder what criteria they’re using.

I applied just for •s and giggles. I am finishing up school right now. I have a 100% chance of not getting the job if I don't apply I have a greater chance if I do apply haha. Figured if I made it past anything other than the first page I can use it as learning.

Anyone brave enough to share if they failed the test? I found it difficult but manageable with the amount of studying I did.

A big thanks to those who recommended material earlier in the thread!
What were the most difficult part? How long the test ?Was there enough time?Any calculation based question?

It's true you have 100% chance of not getting the job if you don't apply, however applying does not necessarily give you a greater chance.

I disagree. It may not give you a noticeable chance but it def does give you a better chance then not applying. The qualifications state dispatch license. It does not say dispatch experience is required. Now will they choose people with experience 100% but did I meat the bare minimum requirements yes haha

Copy, you said you're finishing up school, so I took that to mean dispatch school.

All the best

In person interviews are currently being conducted & offers to go out in a couple weeks for class two, which I believe is mid October. I think the current posting/ upcoming video interviews are for a class in December? Again, not certain on those dates.
