UND again?

not sure. I'd at least look at some of the sattelite campuses. Love the flying, the schooling is pretty good too, but god do I hate this town.

Hawaii baby, yeeeeah

I heard the Hawaii location isn't very good....well, expect for the awesome weather, but the aircraft and instructors are not very good.

If I had to choose again, I'd probably say No.

What route would you have taken if you had to do it again?

I would probably go to a local (in-state) community college or university first and complete all my general ed. classes there and save a butt load of money, before transfering to UND.

If I were still planning on going through the Commercial program, I would say yes.

Since my career path and choices have taken somewhat of a 180 since I got here, I would say no.

This summer I got completely burnt out while finishing 222 and jumping right in to 323. After that experience I had to rethink my career choice as a pilot, and after a lot of consideration decided it just wasn't for me. I switched to Aviation Management, which isn't a huge change, but at least will get me my core business classes and will probably make me more appealing to the law schools I will be applying to.

It's for this reason that I always tell kids that are conidering UND to make sure they get out and fly AT LEAST 10 hours before they make the decision to come out here. Being a professional pilot isn't for everyone. It makes a lot more sense to come to that realization before you come to UND and drop loads of money on a degree you will never use.

Having said all of that, I love the college atmosphere here, I just wish that the school could pick itself up and move to somewhere other than Grand Forks. I have met a ton of great people out here that will be great friends for the rest of my life, and in that regard I would choose UND again in a heartbeat.

I totally agree with Mtts422, the college atmosphere is great! The Aerospace facilities, aircraft and flight instructors are great, too, but they have some pretty stupid rules and policies. To be honest, the University itself doesn't give a [censored] about the students. They always say that they are here to help students succeed and try to help them become more successful in life. That's a load of bull if you ask me. The entire University administration at UND is messed up. I went to the open forum yesterday where Kupchella (President of UND) talked about UND's strategic plan....what a joke

Don't get me wrong, I think the flight training here is top notch, but the university administration need's to straighten out.

That's my thought of the day

I still want to go there, I cant stand chicago anymore. Taking the stupid train everyday, and seeing the same freaking people day after day. Working in an office with a view of a huge brick wall from the bldg next door.
