Tonight I graduated the Black Hawk IP course. It was a very enjoyable and appropriately challenging course. Since flight school in 2000 I wanted to be a military IP - it's really awesome to have had the opportunity to do this. MikeD - give me a call if you need a check ride. :)

Congrats! Now you get to ask questions like, "What's the tire pressure of the tail wheel?" or "How many times per minute do the upper and lower strobes flash?"

Just kidding, you don't strike me as a guy that would care about absolutely useless aspects of the -60. Just don't become one...;)

Look man, if you don't know the searchlight extends to 120 degrees and retracts at 30 degrees per second I don't know what to tell you. :)

No way man... I'm very practical when it comes to training and evaluation. However, I did watch a guy once try to explain how the #1 hyd system powered the stab... I might have some concern for that kind of lack of knowledge.

Instructor: "So, assuming the LDI works as advertised, what happens when the #1 Res Low light comes on?"

Student: "Well, the stab will start programming dow....."

Instructor: "The wha....? The....stab? The stab. Really? Tell me, do you like Mexican food? I know a place that has all-you-can-eat tacos."

Congratulations! I remember the feeling I had completing that course. Now go out and spread the IP cheer.

One of my favorite questions:
If you experience LTE before ETL will the ELT activate?

That's awesome. Going to steal it.

I once actually had the stab fail during hydraulic leak tests. When I talked to the maintenance officer about it he suggested that the stab might have a hydraulic leak. Ummm....
