UAS pilots

Had a discussion with a Flight Ops manager for a Unmanned helicopter. We were talking about UAS pilots with alot of Rotary Wing time vs those with little time in the air, just trained to fly the UAS. Maybe they don't even have a Commercial Pilot's license. He said the UAS only guys really lack judgement. I am wondering what other people think about this.

What's more interesting is they took an existing Bell Helicopter and retrofitted UAV controls. That is the first I have heard of someone doing that. I do know Boeing is flying the test vehicle of the follow on passenger jet to the 787 as a UAV

Not yet. They hired a bunch of Navy F-18 guys in Jan. They are flying in Az and overseas 4 months on and 4 months back here. They can't fly out of GTR till the FAA sets the rules. Sine the FAA works for industry and the industry is putting on a full court press, expect something by the end of the year.
