I assume the $100K will only be available to a limited number of F/As...and will be taxable on payment ? Not a lot of nuts-and-bolts details in the article:

On a related note, a similar deal from DL offers a 45+ year F/A $41K...definitely taxable on payment.

Yes, I assume so.

UAL is on the right track with the buyout money as long as a person doesn't have to forfeit the pension to the $100K. I haven't seen enough UAL details to know what's what with the deal.

The DL F/A buyout deals are a joke...and they've tried a few of them. They'd only appeal to those planning to leave anyway; they'd adjust their departure date a bit to get the beer money as they leave. And it's only beer money...not an incentive to leave.

If DL wants to clean out the top end, they're going to have to get serious about the money. They show no sign of such seriousness.

Maybe UAL can help DL like DL helped AA.
