Pilots of Council 34,

Recently, our SFO Chief Pilot sent a unimatic e-note to all pilots referring to our new senior vice president of flight operations as “Captain Kolshak”. Let us be perfectly clear that Mister Kolshak is not, has never been, and likely never will be, a captain at United Airlines. In fact, he is currently listed on United’s rolls as a “second officer”.

A resolution is currently before us at the MEC meeting to prohibit Mister Kolshak from ever receiving a seniority number at United Airlines.

Fraternally,
Mike Holman
Council 34 Vice Chairman

It might only be escaping me, but what is the point of this? Aren't there more important things for representation to devote their time to?

This is one of the most important things a union can do, protect the seniority list from management shenannigans.

Had a United 744 guy on our jumpseat this afternoon.

The tricks those guys got up their sleeves is impressive. . .no doubt about that.
