I was just wondering what the benefits for hotels, cruises, etc. are generally like for airlines. Are these discounts the usual 10% discounts like many non-airline companies offer or are they substantial?
There can be some significant savings found on things like cruises and resorts for airline employees. One site I can think of offhand that offers these is perx.com. there are others but I can't think of them offhand.
There are certain hotel chains that might offer you airline discounts, but that is between your airline and the hotel chain. Those too can be substantial.
It depends on the contract(s) the your company has in place with hotels, rental car agencies and such. It varies. Some offer as much as 50% off a certain hotel, but 25% off at another.
Rental company only charged me $200 for 3 days renting a dodge challenger. Down like $100 and ignored that I was only 24. Close to half off for a sports car is sweet, and damn I miss that thing
Dargal.com and id90travel.com are two decent ones. Only requires an email address from your airline but sometimes they are not great and other times they are unbeatable.
Like others have said there is usually a discount with rental cars and hotels.
If you call a hotel they usually have an interline rate which may save you a few bucks.
Also, if you have an airline ID there are times where you can use the employee line for security and may restaurants in the terminals will give an employee discount.
