Two questions for you FS folk.

#1) Are there churches in WALKING distance from Flight Saftey Academy?

#2) What are the requirements to get financial assistance?
A) I personally dont want to get a loan for +60k. Im afraid I wont be able to pay it off in the near future.
And I dont have a credit history. So getting a loan that big would be not possible.
B) I would get that loan IF I get a co-signer (my dad). I dont want to do this becuase I feel depressed if for some reason I dont get a good enough job to start paying of the loan, and my dad will have to help.
-It will ruin his credit rating
-I want him to spend it on something other then loans.

C) I saw that FSA says it will pay fully for you training if you are in need of full financial assistance. (I personally dont want to bum money off of FSA).

So what is your thought on this?

I HIGHLY Doubt FSA is going to pay for your training. They may be able to help you find loans and such, but they wont pay for your training....
 
Everything is within walking distance if you have the time.

Call and talk to Mary or Silvia about fin aid.

No way FSI is paying a penny for your training

Get a loan or marry a rich womanh

Now technically that isn't true. If you become an instructor and give the prerequisite number of dual given hours, the CFII and MEI are on FSI.

Other than that, I don't think so... I have heard of a few strange cases though.

Sure the CFII and MEI are on them if you pass stand, but it aint free, CONTRACT !!! Your giving up something in return!

I could come up at almost anytime really but I want to finish this up first.

I have the spin lesson tom.

I spoke with "agent Smart" as well, maybe I can get up there and we can all get together.

This thread reminds me of the pangs of pain I felt every time I heard stories about the Koreans, and the Chinese and especially all the Saudi pilots (when they still had that doubtless lucrative contract going pre 9/11 anyway) got not only a free lunch, they had the all their ratings tossed in by their sponsoring airline.
I recall my barber in VRB told me the Saudis even had their families here and those oil sheikhs not only paid for the flight training but also paid them a handsome salary to be here and full room and board for the whole family. No wonder they told all at his barber shop, it was called 'The Royal Cut,' it must have reminded them of their kingdom back home.
And I hope pavelump and my old crew partner can make it up here, we'll go out and have some fun for old times sake. (Now I sound like like I'm retired already).
 
Ah....good ole Royal Cut. Great place to hang out, bad place for a haircut. That guy's a butcher!
 
Remember when the two Saudis were arrested for picking up that "under cover" prostitute on US1? Bad day for those two "EX-Pilots". Not only did they get sent back to Saudi but someone posted copies of the newspaper clipping high lighting their names, all over the academy.

I never herd that one. I did hear about the guy caught with kiddy porn. He got busted by a detective from Biloxi MS posing as a little girl(sick man) on the internet.
 
What other FS rumours are there? You folks know that JFK Jr. did his training there? I met some decent looking pilot chix there in 2003.
