As many other 787s that are still flying are also coming up to this landmark maintenance event, demand for parts will spike, making the operation economically viable.

Issue with Rolls Royce power plants.

The planes arrived at their current location at Prestwick Airport in Scotland for storage back in the summer of 2019, after having flown transatlantic routes for Norwegian, via leasing companies, for about six years. They were part of a group of 35 Boeing 787s that were grounded because of problems with their engine blades, which were cracking or corroding prematurely.

It should be noted that, in the effed-up universe of “Norwegian,” these aircraft were not operated by Norwegian Air Shuttle, nor Norwegian Air International, or Norwegian Air Shuttle AOC, or Norwegian Air Argentina, Norway, Shuttle Sweden, Sweden, Shuttle Sweden AOC, or UK, but was actually “Norwegian Long Haul.”

That would be a "fleet" of random one or two-aircraft AOCs doing flying on behalf of the brand.

"On Nov 14th 2016 a source told The Aviation Herald, that the crew received a takeoff configuration warning and rejected takeoff shutting down both engines, which caused all electrics to shut down as well including cabin lighting. While the flight crew was restarting the engines, cabin crew walked the aisles to calm passengers, the flight attendants expected another call by the crew to take their seats prior to takeoff, however, suddenly - with cabin crew still around the cabin in the aisles - the engines accelerated for takeoff and the aircraft departed with the cabin crew rushing to their seats. Climbing out of Kristiansand (usual cruise level FL300) the crew received a cabin altitude warning and levelled off at low altitude, it was later found the air conditioning systems had not been activated. The aircraft was operated by flight crew from Go2Sky and a cabin crew from Norwegian Air Shuttle."
